Why is herbal tea not a tea?
It sounds confusing, we know. But herbal teas are actually “tisanes” or infusions. In fact, true teas are only those that come from the leaves of Camellia sinensis which is the tea plant. This includes green, black, white, and oolong teas. Tisanes, on the other hand, are infusions made from almost any plant’s parts (with the exception of Camellia sinensis, of course) such as berries, roots, leaves, flowers, stems, and fruit. What form do you prefer?
